Draftsight 20194/5/2023 I can't bring myself to bite the bullet and completely de-fenestrate my PC and go Linux-only, when I get a new PC this one will go Linux. I have a virtual machine setup to learn Linux under that but by itself that runs very slowly. Less experienced users think their computer is just "old" or "wearing out" but there's always a reason for these slow-downs, something got changed and messed it up. Installing large packages like DS has a lot to do with it, especially once you've been through a few versions and system updates, often things don't align properly any more. Windows is great when it's first installed and everything's fresh but then it gradually accumulates these dead ends. That kind of thing makes Linux look very attractive. What usually happens is it times out, sometimes for exactly 60 seconds, sometimes more. Those security certifactes expire or change frequently and every time UAC is invoked, it wants to "call home" to check on all of them. Then scroll down to Security, then look for "Check for publisher's certificate revocation". I now have that also <1 sec., if this happens to you this is the answer -Ĭontrol Panel (not settings, the old fashioned CP, might have to look for it), Internet Settings, Advanced tab. I was lucky if I had my PC back in under 60 seconds. approval or whatever, invoking "User Account Control". I found another one, the worst experience is when the screen dims and you get asked if you really want to install that program or it wants admin. Thanks, it's really improved my online life. either way my right-clicks have gone from ~30 sec. Worked for me.ĮDIT - I've now removed that ref. If your system has been doing this and you have installed DS, try this method. I can see all sorts of other shell extensions I don't need, I'm tossing them too. In my system's case that was a bottleneck. This may be because large installations like DS take a long time to drill down to the specific files invoked by that handler then go through a large start-up procedure involving all kinds of things you don't need, swapping out virtual memory and so on to do it. I disabled that, and instantly, my right clicks are now taking under a second again, for the first time in maybe 2 years! PHEW! What a relief. The first one I saw (following the directions and viewing all non-microsoft ones) was a DXF handler for DraftSight, something I have never ever used, didn't even know it was there. I installed a utility called ShellExView (Shell Extension Viewer) which controls these "shell extensions". Sometimes you don't even know they've done it because they don't add a *visible* menu item, or not until you right-click on something they deal with. I did some research into this and found it is usually because 3rd-party programs add handlers into your context menues. Especially when you right-click something, it can take over 30 seconds sometimes (and more and more often) before the computer does something and you can move on. mine is one of those windows 10 systems that is getting slow for reasons that are not obvious. For this article, we’re going to focus on new features and improvements for each offering. You can see the command in action in the animation below. This is slightly off-topic but I thought it would be interesting to DraftSight users. Next, select your start point for the mask and keep selecting points till you are happy with the coverage. These problems always get resolved with each new release of Software if they are well addressed. Most of the problems caused in Software are due to human errors or complexity in Software functions. So, to start with, we select the Mask tool from the menu. Dassault Systemes DraftSight Premium 2019 free download latest version offline setup for Windows 64-bit. Rather than delete the isometric on the bottom let, we will mask the area off. We’ll use one of the examples that comes with DraftSight to demonstrate. Just select Mask from the menu or enter Mask at the command line. So, how do you use the Mask command? Well it’s quite easy really. If, at some stage in the future, you do need to show that area, you can just remove the Mask. Rather than go to the trouble and effort of deleting an area of the drawing, you can just create a Mask and that will hide the area from view. Now, why would you want to do that? Well, perhaps there are areas of your drawing that don’t relate to the current project you are working on and if they were included, it may lead to some confusion. What is the Mask command in DraftSight 2019? Well, to put it simply, it masks, or hides an area of a drawing.
